FORT WORTH, TX - Fort Worth Police Chief Eddie Garcia announced the capture of a second suspect in the October 5th West 7th Street shooting. 23-year-old Jason Nash was located by Fort Worth Police Intel, Fugitive, G.H.O.S.T., and Direct Response Unit in South Fort Worth.
On the morning of October 5, around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Bledsoe Street. Upon arrival, they found 31-year-old Patrique Dumonne Allen wounded; he died at the scene. Investigators confirmed that the shooting was unprovoked. Five other victims were transported to hospitals for treatment. Multiple suspects fired handguns, striking the victims, and police believe the incident was gang-related.
Earlier, on October 9, 20-year-old Akrell Ross was identified as a suspect and arrested for aggravated assault by a public servant. Ross was located in the 5400 block of Huffines Blvd. and initially refused to exit the home, prompting a SWAT response. Negotiators successfully persuaded Ross to surrender peacefully without incident.
The investigation into the West 7th Street shooting remains ongoing and other arrests/charges are possible.
