An Irving Police officer arrested 31-year-old Antonio Almaguer on November 22 after a late-night patrol at the Villa La Paz Apartments led to the discovery of cocaine, THC vape pens, marijuana and multiple outstanding felony warrants.
Around 10:55 p.m., the officer was patrolling the complex at 3200 W. Pioneer Drive, a location known for narcotics activity, when he spotted a suspicious occupied sedan. As the officer approached, he immediately smelled fresh marijuana. A bag of marijuana was visible in the center console, and during the encounter Almaguer dropped a small baggie containing 0.3 grams of cocaine from his pocket.
Almaguer was taken into custody. Once he arrived at the Irving Jail, officers learned he was wanted on six felony warrants out of Dallas and Tarrant counties. Four of the warrants, all from Dallas County, stemmed from a September 2024 case involving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drug possession, a crash involving injury, and evading arrest during a high-speed chase where a woman was injured. He later failed to appear in court in June 2025. The remaining two warrants were related to narcotics charges in Tarrant County.
A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered a distribution-level quantity of drugs:
• 19.8 grams of cocaine packaged into small, labeled baggies
• 7 THC vape pens (14 grams total)
• 175.5 grams of pre-packaged marijuana
• A digital scale and packaging materials
Police say the packaging and amounts clearly indicate drug dealing.
Almaguer is charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance PG1 (cocaine), manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance PG2 (THC), possession of marijuana, failure to identify as a fugitive, and the six outstanding warrants.
He remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail with his bond set at $1,286,000. Tarrant County authorities placed a hold request to prevent him from bonding out of jail.
