Hispanic Man Advertising as a 'Healer' Arrested for Sexual Assault in South Irving

Vicente Cuevas

IRVING, Texas - Vicente Cuevas, 76, of Irving, was arrested on November 12, 2025, on a warrant for sexual assault following a months-long investigation by the Irving Police Department. He was subsequently transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remains held on a $250,000 bond, with an additional hold requested by an unnamed authority.

Details of the Alleged Assault

The warrant was issued after an investigation into an incident reported on July 12, 2025.  On July 11th, at about 8:00 pm, the victim met with Cuevas at his residence in the 1100 block of Stellan Street near E. Shady Grove Rd and S. Nursery Td. in South Irving. According to the Dallas County Appraisal District, the home is co-owned by Cuevas, his wife and his son since 2003. Cuevas advertised himself as a "Sobador," a Spanish term for a traditional healer who performs massages for muscle ailments and other injuries.  After arriving at the home, the victim was told to follow Cuevas to a back shed on the property for treatment of an ankle injury.

The victim stated that Cuevas instructed her to remove her bra which she thought odd since her injury dealt with her ankle.  After his persistence, she unbuckled her bra but left it covering her breasts. He then stated that he needed to massage her armpit.  As Cuevas massaged her side, he allegedly began pulling off the victim's underwear against her will. The victim said no to a sexual act, but Cuevas then sexually assaulted her with his fingers. He retreated, but then forced himself one her once again.  The victim fought Cuevas off, pulled her legs together, and firmly told him to stop. He then groped her as she attempted to defend herself and get dressed.  The victim then fled the property.

Evidence Confirms Victim's Account

After reporting the incident to Irving Police officers, she was transported to Parkland Hospital for a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) exam.  The exam noted injuries consistent with the victim's account of events.  Multiple DNA swabs were collected and analyzed by the SWIFS Forensic Biology Unit.   This DNA evidence showed a match for a male on the victim's right breast.  A search warrant was conducted at the suspect's property to obtain his DNA sample. The comparison to the sample from the victim showed a very high inclusion rate of 1 in 222 billion, linking Cuevas to the assault.

Based on the investigation and forensic evidence, a warrant was issued, leading to Cuevas's arrest and charges.
