On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at approximately 6:34 p.m., an Irving police officer was dispatched to Irving Fire Station 6 in the 2800 block of Esters Road at West Rochelle Road in response to a reported domestic disturbance in progress that resulted in a car crash nearby.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with one of the victims, identified as Maria Rodriguez-Castellanos. She reported that she had been involved in a domestic incident with her ex-girlfriend of four years, 25-year-old Elena Fausta DeLeon, in the parking lot of the Ladera Ranch Apartments in the 3300 block of Esters Road.
Rodriguez-Castellanos stated that she had ended the relationship and went to the apartment complex to return DeLeon’s personal belongings. Her mother, 43-year-old Celina Castellanos of Carrollton, accompanied her and was identified in the police report as the second victim.
After returning the items, both victims left the area in a black Honda sedan driven by Celina Castellanos. As they continued through the parking lot, DeLeon, who was driving a black Jeep Cherokee, drove head-on toward their vehicle. Police stated that as Celina attempted to avoid a collision, DeLeon intentionally maneuvered her SUV into the path of the Honda, causing a collision.
Rodriguez-Castellanos provided officers with video footage recorded from inside the vehicle. In the video, the Honda appears to brake, while the Jeep does not appear to make any attempt to stop. After the collision, DeLeon exited the Jeep and demanded the remainder of her belongings.
Celina Castellanos reported pain resulting from the collision. Officers concluded that DeLeon intentionally caused bodily injury to Celina Castellanos by striking the vehicle and threatened Maria Rodriguez-Castellanos, who was the passenger, with imminent bodily injury by ramming the vehicle.
DeLeon was arrested and transported to the Irving Jail. Due to the presence of two victims, she was charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. An emergency protective order was requested.
Her bond was set at $70,000. She remains in custody at the Dallas County Jail, where a hold from another jurisdiction is preventing her release.
