On the evening of December 11, 2025, Irving Police responded to a domestic disturbance at the Brittney Place Apartments on the 1500 block of E. Irving Blvd near S. Irving Heights Dr.
The victim, 7.5 months pregnant, told officers that her 24-year-old boyfriend, Anthony Navarrete-Garcia, assaulted her by grabbing the front of her neck and pushing her onto a bed. The assault caused her pain and raised serious concerns for the safety of her unborn child. During the incident, Navarrete-Garcia also threatened to kill the victim.
Police arrested Navarrete-Garcia at the scene and charged him with Aggravated Assault of a Pregnant Person. He was transported to the Irving Jail, and the victim requested an Emergency Protective Order (EPO).
Authorities noted that Navarrete-Garcia has a prior record. In August 2025, he was arrested by Irving Police and charged with two counts of Abandon/Endangering a Child and faced issues with insufficient bond for Possession of Marijuana, as he had been out on bail from a previous arrest.
The Irving Police Department emphasized the importance of reporting domestic violence incidents to protect victims and prevent further harm.
