The event includes a Bible-based talk and the passing of bread and wine as symbols of Jesus's sacrifice.
According to the invitation being distributed, "Jesus instructed his followers to remember, or commemorate, one special event - the sacrifice of his perfect human life. (John 3:16) On the night before he died, Jesus shared in a last supper with his apostles, during which he told them: 'Keep doing this in remembrance of me.' - Luke 22:19."
While Jehovah's Witnesses are well-known for their door-to-door ministry — which continues throughout the year — they are currently in the midst of a special campaign, distributing invitations for the upcoming Memorial.
Worldwide attendance at the event is more than double the number of Jehovah's Witnesses around the globe.
