DALLAS, TX - A 26-year-old Spring, Texas man has been sentenced to over three decades in prison following a multi-agency investigation into the production of child pornography and the sexual abuse of a minor. Joseph Angel Olvera was found guilty on December 12, 2025, for his role in the exploitation of a child under the age of 14.
The Investigation: From Digital Solicitation to Abuse
The case against Olvera began with a targeted investigation by the Irving Police Department into the online solicitation of a minor. As detectives delved into the digital evidence, they uncovered a disturbing trail of the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Irving Police were involved because the minor being solicited lived in Irving.
Arrest and Extradition
The search for Olvera led investigators to Montgomery County, where he resided in Spring. In March 2023, Montgomery County Deputies, working in coordination with Irving Police investigators, took Olvera into custody.
Following his arrest, Olvera was extradited from Montgomery County back to Irving in April 2023. He was booked into the Irving Jail before being transferred to the Dallas County Jail on April 8, 2023. He was able to bond out of jail, but was taken into custody immediately after the sentence was announced.
