DALLAS, TX - The Federal Bureau of Investigation Dallas Field Office is asking for the public’s help to locate Jerson Lopez-Sanchez, 28, who is wanted on a federal arrest warrant for allegedly assaulting federal officers during a violent encounter in North Texas. A reward of up to $15,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
According to federal authorities, the incident occurred on December 1, 2025, when officers with Immigration and Customs Enforcement were conducting enforcement operations in the Dallas area. ICE officers attempted to stop a white Chevrolet pickup truck on Interstate 35E near FM 3040 in Lewisville after determining the vehicle was registered to an individual previously removed from the United States.
After pulling over, investigators say the driver, identified as Lopez-Sanchez, suddenly put the truck in reverse and rammed an ICE SUV, injuring an agent whose leg was outside the vehicle at the time. Lopez-Sanchez then fled, striking a separate van occupied by two ICE officers during the pursuit, causing additional injuries.
The truck eventually stopped, and three occupants who attempted to flee on foot were captured, but Lopez-Sanchez escaped.
On January 14, 2026, a federal arrest warrant was issued in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division, charging Lopez-Sanchez with Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers or Employees.
Lopez-Sanchez is described as a Hispanic male from Honduras with black hair and brown eyes. He is 28 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 165 pounds. He recently was employed as a roofer.
