TARRANT COUNTY, Texas - A Fort Worth man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after a judge revoked his probation and found he committed multiple violent offenses while under court supervision, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Iazarus Gomes, 33, received the sentence on Jan. 20, 2026, after prosecutors proved he violated the terms of his probation stemming from a conviction for manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance. While on probation, Gomes committed several acts of intimate partner violence, authorities said.
Those offenses included aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a family member by strangulation, and assault of a family member with a prior conviction, according to prosecutors.
The case was investigated by the Fort Worth Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Morgan Blair and Jaimie Jernigan.
