Officer Shot, Two Others Wounded During Armed Standoff at Dallas Apartment

DALLAS, TX - Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured, including a police officer, after officers responded to a disturbance involving an armed suspect at an apartment complex in the Redbird area Monday night.

According to the Dallas Police Department, officers were dispatched at about 8:41 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2026, to an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Woodhollow Drive, near West Ledbetter Drive and Loop 12, after reports of a suspect threatening people with a firearm.

Officers entered the apartment and learned the suspect was inside a bathroom with another person. Police said officers gave verbal commands while witnesses inside the residence shouted that the suspect had a gun. Officers then entered the bathroom, where shots were fired.

Two people were struck during the exchange and transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. One officer was shot in the vest and taken to a hospital as a precaution. Police said the officer is in good condition.

Daniel Comeaux said two officers fired their weapons during the incident and that approximately 10 people were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

The incident remains under active investigation, and police said additional details will be released in the coming days.
