Irving Police Arrest Husband Accused of Strangling Wife During Dispute

Andres Rojo-Loreto

IRVING, Texas - Irving police arrested a 25-year-old man following a reported domestic assault at an apartment complex in North Irving late last month, authorities said.

Officers with the Irving Police Department were dispatched around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2026, to the Maxton West Apartments in the 3200 block of West Walnut Hill Lane after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance at a second-floor unit.

According to police, officers spoke with the victim, a 28-year-old woman, who reported that her husband, Andres Rojo-Loreto, strangled her during an argument. She told officers that Rojo-Loreto grabbed her neck with both hands and applied pressure, causing difficulty breathing. Officers observed redness on her neck and left ear, police said.

Investigators stated that Rojo-Loreto admitted to grabbing his wife and "squeezing" her neck for a period of time during the argument. He was taken into custody and transported to the Irving Jail.

Rojo-Loreto has been charged with domestic violence assault involving impeded breathing or circulation. Police said an emergency protective order (EPO) is being requested to protect the victim.

The responding officers were identified as Arturo Torres and Linsie Wyatt. During the booking process, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials placed a hold on Rojo-Loreto since he is an illegal alien (undocumented immigrant).
