WEATHERFORD, Texas - Three people were killed and a fourth was hospitalized following a single-family residential fire early Saturday, January 31st, in Parker County, according to Weatherford Fire Rescue. The three victims were identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office as 18-year-old Malynna Renee Pidgeon, 45-year-old Amy Renee Pidgeon, and 73-year-old Connie Harris Pidgeon. Authorities said Malynna was the daughter of Amy, and Connie was Malynna’s grandmother and Amy’s mother-in-law. Officials also confirmed that four dogs died in the fire.
Fire crews were dispatched at approximately 12:36 a.m. to the 400 block of Stoneridge Trail, an area served by Weatherford Fire Rescue under a contract with Parker County Emergency Services District No. 3. Initial reports indicated multiple occupants were trapped inside the home.
Due to the severity of the fire, a second alarm was requested, bringing in several mutual aid agencies. Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire involvement and dense smoke conditions. One occupant was already outside the residence when emergency crews arrived, while three others were believed to still be inside.
Firefighters immediately began rescue and suppression operations, entering the home under extreme heat and smoke. Crews located and removed all three occupants from the structure. Emergency medical care was provided at the scene, but life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. The individual who escaped the home prior to firefighters’ arrival was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Parker County Fire Marshal's Office. Officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
A gofundme has been established to support Patrick Pidgeon who lost his daughter, wife and mother.
Weatherford Fire Rescue expressed condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the fire.
Agencies assisting in the response included Parker County Emergency Services Districts Nos. 1, 6, 7, and 8, the Cresson Fire Department, the Parker County Hospital District, the Weatherford Police Department, and the Parker County Sheriff's Office.
