DALLAS — A 21-year-old man was killed and another man injured in a late-night shooting Friday in South Dallas, according to police.
Officers responded at approximately 10:47 p.m. on February 13, 2026, to a shooting call in the 4600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street near Wahoo Park. Upon arrival, officers determined that two men had been shot at the location.
Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced 21-year-old Jackie Jernigan dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to a hospital by private vehicle. His condition has not been released.
Police said the motives and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. The case is documented under case number 021025-2026.
