DALLAS — A Dallas County jury has convicted 46-year-old Raymond Jermone Garner in connection with a 2024 parking lot shooting that left an innocent passenger dead.
On February 4, 2026, Garner was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
According to prosecutors, the shooting happened December 8, 2024, following a night out involving the victim, Chonseya Robinson, her friend Shelina Alexander, and Alexander’s boyfriend, Garner.
Investigators said Alexander initially planned to stay the night with Garner at his apartment on South Fitzhugh Avenue, while Robinson prepared to return home to Fort Worth. After a series of arguments, Alexander reconsidered and drove back to Garner’s apartment complex, where another confrontation unfolded in the parking lot.
During the dispute, Garner retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired eight rounds toward Alexander and the car. Robinson, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was struck multiple times.
Robinson was transported to Baylor Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities said Garner fled the scene immediately after the shooting and never returned to his apartment or workplace.
The case was prosecuted by lead attorney Emily Antram with Leah Dintino serving as second chair. The investigation was conducted by the Dallas Police Department with assistance from District Attorney Investigator John Schingle, Legal Assistant Regina Taylor, and Victim Advocate Melinda Shelton.
