Suspect Dies After Crashing During Fort Worth Police Pursuit Tied to Kidnapping Investigation

FORT WORTH, Texas — A man is dead following a police pursuit Monday evening connected to an aggravated kidnapping investigation.

At approximately 6:32 p.m. on March 2, 2026, the Fort Worth Police Department was conducting a follow-up investigation involving a vehicle believed to be connected to an aggravated kidnapping.

Patrol officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, but the driver failed to yield and fled northbound on Interstate 35, prompting a pursuit.

Police said the vehicle exited at Pharr Street, where the driver lost control and crashed into a concrete pillar beneath the overpass.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers or members of the public were injured.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit and Major Case Unit are investigating. Detectives are working to confirm the circumstances leading up to the pursuit.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased and determine the official cause and manner of death.
