Man Found Shot to Death in Fort Worth; Five Detained after Suspect Vehicle Located

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in the Diamond Hill area of North Fort Worth that left one person dead and five individuals detained.

On March 15, 2026, at approximately 2:09 a.m., officers assigned to the Northwest Division were dispatched to the 2000 block of East Long Avenue in response to reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located one victim suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to police, witnesses at the scene provided a description of a suspect vehicle, which was broadcast to officers in the area. Officers soon located the vehicle and conducted a stop.

Authorities detained five individuals who were inside the vehicle as part of the investigation.

The Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit has been notified and is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and determine the official cause and manner of death.
