Teen Arrested In Irving For Assaulting Pregnant Girlfriend During Domestic Incident

Bryan Barrios-Gomez

IRVING, Texas - An Irving teenager is facing a felony charge after police say he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend during a domestic incident.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, at approximately 3:45 p.m., an Irving police officer responded to a domestic disturbance call at a mobile home in the 1700 block of East Shady Grove Road in South Irving (behind Braum's). The call was initiated by a neighbor reporting a loud argument in progress.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the victim, a Hispanic woman, who said she had been in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, identified as 17-year-old Bryan Barrios-Gomez, outside their residence. The dispute reportedly began over her attempting to leave.

According to the victim, as she tried to leave, Barrios-Gomez grabbed her left arm and attempted to force her back inside the home. She tried to break free but said he maintained a strong grip and continued dragging her.

The victim told police she fell to the ground during the struggle but was still dragged up the steps and into the residence.

The responding officer observed visible injuries, including scrapes and swelling on her knees and red marks on her inner left bicep consistent with being grabbed and dragged. Her clothing also showed signs of damage, including stains and a tear in the knee area.

The victim informed the officer that she is approximately two months pregnant. Police said Barrios-Gomez confirmed he was aware of the pregnancy.

Barrios-Gomez was taken into custody at the scene and initially booked into the Irving Jail. He was charged with Assault of a Pregnant Person Causing Minor Injuries, a third-degree felony.

The victim requested an emergency protective order.

On March 13, Barrios-Gomez was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remains in custody on no bond.
