IRVING, Texas - An 18-year-old woman has been arrested following a domestic disturbance involving multiple victims at an Irving residence early Tuesday morning.
On March 17, 2026, around 12:27 a.m., Irving Police responded to a domestic in progress call in the 2600 block of William Brewster Drive.
According to the arrest affidavit, the initial Officer that arrived on-scene spoke with a 39-year-old woman at the scene. She said Violet Ann Cohea pushed her shortly after midnight. She said the contact was unwanted and caused offense.
According to investigators, a 39-year-old woman reported an heated argument became physical and that Violet Ann Cohea pushed her during the altercation. A 23-year-old man at the residence said he attempted to intervene and separate the two. When he grabbed Cohea to prevent her from going after the woman, she punched him in the face.
The man told officers he then attempted to pin Cohea on the ground to prevent further violence. At that point, Cohea grabbed him by the neck with both hands and squeezed, impeding his ability to breathe. Officers did observe visible injuries on the man that were consistent with his account.
A third victim, a 19-year-old man and Cohea’s boyfriend, told officers he witnessed the incident and attempted to help the other male victim in restraining her to the ground. He said Cohea then punched him in the face.
A fourth woman at the home said that she witnessed the event and corroborated the victims’ statements, telling officers that Cohea was the primary aggressor and the other three were attempting to calm her down.
Police said all individuals involved live at the residence, establishing a domestic relationship among those involved.
Cohea was taken into custody and booked into the Irving Jail. She is charged with two counts of domestic violence assault and one count of domestic violence assault impeding breath or circulation.
The Irving PD incident report also confirmed Cohea had an active warrant from a previous domestic violence case stemming from an October 2025 incident involving a different boyfriend at the time (now ex-boyfriend). The complaint in that arrest shows that she hit the victim, pulled his hair and then scratched him. Court records show the case is pending and was placed into a Mental Health Pretrial Intervention program (MHPTI) last week. The purpose of MHPTI is to connect individuals with mental health needs to treatment services, rather than sending them to jail.
