IRVING, Texas — An Irving man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife and her mother during a domestic disturbance in Las Colinas, police said.
Officers responded around 5:47 a.m. on March 24, 2026, to the 1200 block of Meadow Creek Drive after a 911 caller reported her husband was hitting her.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 35-year-old woman who said her husband, identified as 39-year-old Issam Khayati, accused her of cheating before becoming violent. She told police he grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and began punching her.
The victim said her 66-year-old mother intervened, but Khayati continued the assault and struck the older woman in the abdomen while trying to reach his wife. The victim also told officers that Khayati threatened to kill her and mentioned using a firearm, leaving her in fear for her life.
Officers also spoke with the mother, who primarily speaks Arabic. Through translation, she indicated Khayati struck her and attempted to continue the assault on her daughter.
Police said Khayati admitted confronting his wife about suspected infidelity and grabbing her shirt as she walked away, but denied assaulting either woman or making threats. Officers observed visible injuries on the wife.
Khayati was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury (family violence), terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury, and injury to an elderly person.
According to police, the couple has been married for approximately 10 years and shares a child. The wife filed for divorce in February 2026 in the 303rd District Court which is pending. She had previously filed for an annulment in December 2023, which was later dismissed.
After getting booked into the the Irving Jail, Khayati was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on March 25. He has since bonded out. The case remains pending.
