Irving Teen Held Without Bond After Assaulting Pregnant Girlfriend

IRVING, Texas — A 19-year-old man is being held without bond after allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman during a domestic disturbance in North Irving.

Police were called around 6:53 p.m. on April 1 to the Kensley Apartment Homes in the 4200 block of Carlton Way. When officers arrived, they made contact with a 21-year-old woman who reported she had been assaulted by the father of her child.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Jacyion Devon Hopson, allegedly pushed the victim into a wall, grabbed her hair, and slapped her in the face. The victim told officers she was pushed in the stomach area, causing pain, and also experienced back pain from the impact with the wall.

Authorities said the victim is approximately 17 weeks pregnant, and the suspect was aware of the pregnancy, having attended medical appointments with her.

Hopson was taken into custody at the scene and booked into the Irving Jail on a charge of Assault of a Pregnant Person.

On April 2nd, he was transferred to the Dallas County Jail. Judge Isabel Cruz denied bond as the investigation continues, and he remains in custody.
