FORT WORTH, Texas — A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly returning to a business with a rifle and threatening an employee, according to Fort Worth police.
On April 4, 2026, officers responded to a “person with a weapon” call at a business in the 2000 block of Ridgmar Boulevard. Upon arrival, they learned 49-year-old Scott Bender had been involved in a disturbance inside the establishment and was asked to leave.
Police said Bender later returned armed with a rifle and confronted an employee outside, pointing the weapon directly at him and causing the employee to fear for his life.
Later that evening, officers with the Directed Response Unit located Bender at a nearby restaurant. He was taken into custody during a high-risk stop without further incident. Officers recovered an AR-style pistol from his vehicle.
Bender was transported to the Fort Worth City Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The FWPD issued the following warning: "The Fort Worth Police Department WILL NOT TOLERATE reckless or dangerous behavior with firearms. If you choose to act irresponsibly, you will be held accountable."
