TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — A Tarrant County jury convicted 37-year-old Bushae Hatton Jr. in a domestic violence case involving the strangulation of his girlfriend and sentenced him to 25 years in prison, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
Hatton was found guilty of aggravated assault by impeding a family member’s breathing. The charge was enhanced charge due to a prior conviction.
The case stems from a September 4, 2024, domestic disturbance in Fort Worth.
According to prosecutors, Fort Worth police responded to the call and determined Hatton had assaulted and strangled his girlfriend.
Prosecutors told jurors Hatton had previously been convicted of assaulting two other intimate partners, a history that factored into the enhanced charge.
Following the guilty verdict, the jury sentenced Hatton to 25 years in prison.
The case was prosecuted by Riley Reynolds and Morgan Blair.
