Man Killed in Early Morning Everman Shooting; Suspect Arrested Nearby

EVERMAN, Texas — A man was shot and killed early Wednesday morning in Everman, and a suspect is now in custody, according to police.

Officers were dispatched around 6:05 a.m. April 22, 2026, to the 500 block of Georgetown Drive after a caller reported a disturbance. During the 911 call, multiple gunshots were heard.

Police arrived within moments and found an adult male in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Everman Fire Department EMS provided emergency treatment and transported the victim to Texas Health Huguley Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities said the suspect, also an adult male, was located several blocks away and taken into custody.

Investigators recovered a handgun believed to have been used in the shooting after it was discarded by the suspect while fleeing the scene.

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident stemming from a domestic relationship and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains ongoing.
