IRVING, Texas — City officials are inviting residents to weigh in on how federal housing and community development funds should be used during two upcoming public hearings.
The City of Irving Housing and Redevelopment Division will host the first hearing May 2 at 10 a.m. at the Jack D. Huffman Community Building. A second hearing is scheduled for July 16 at 7 p.m. during an Irving City Council meeting at City Hall.
The hearings are part of the city’s process to develop its Annual Action Plan, which outlines how funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will be allocated. The plan includes programs such as the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships Program and Emergency Solutions Grant.
Officials said the funding is intended to support efforts that provide decent housing, create suitable living environments and expand economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income residents.
Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input, comments and recommendations on future projects and activities funded through these programs.
