NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Two people were arrested Tuesday evening, April 28th, after fleeing a reported shoplifting incident and leading officers on a brief pursuit that ended with the use of spike strips, according to police.
North Richland Hills Police Officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to a department store off Boulevard 26 near Precinct Line Road after receiving a report of shoplifting. Authorities said a man and woman concealed merchandise and fled the store before officers could detain them.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspects did not pull over, prompting assistance from additional units. With help from the Fort Worth Police Department, the vehicle was stopped using spike strips near Loop 820 and Blue Mound Road.

Police identified the driver as 31-year-old Dominic Fabela of Fort Worth. He was arrested and charged with theft and evading arrest, and officers said he also had a felony warrant for evading out of Tarrant County.
The passenger, 36-year-old Sophia Rodriguez of Fort Worth, was also taken into custody and charged with theft. Authorities said she had outstanding warrants for drug charges and traffic violations out of Sansom Park.
Both suspects were booked into the Tarrant County Jail.
