FORT WORTH, Texas — A traffic stop in west Fort Worth resulted in the seizure of multiple narcotics and the arrest of a driver on drug charges, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

On April 14, 2026, a patrol deputy initiated the stop in the 3300 block of Alta Mere Drive in the Western Hills North area after observing inconsistencies in the driver’s statements and behavior. A K-9 unit was requested to assist, and the dog conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle.

Authorities said the K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal drugs, prompting a search of the vehicle. Deputies recovered approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine, 144.4 grams of ecstasy, 15.3 grams of cocaine and $1,651 in cash.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old DeMarcus Rhodes, was taken into custody at the scene.

Rhodes faces two counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams, and one count of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance of more than 400 grams.
