Two Dead, Three Injured in Carrollton Shooting; Suspect in Custody

CARROLLTON, Texas — Two people were killed and three others injured in a shooting Tuesday morning across multiple locations in Carrollton, according to the Carrollton Police Department.

Police responded around 9:57 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 4000 block of State Highway 121. Upon arrival, officers found four adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a male, was confirmed deceased.  The other three, two males and one female, were transported ato a local hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Police Chief Robert Arredondo said that during the investigation, officers were notified of a second shooting at approximately 11:13 am in the 2700 block of Old Denton Rd.  Officers arrived on scene and located one deceased adult male inside an apartment.  The investigation revealed that this shooting was carried out by the same suspect.

Seung Ho Han

Investigators identified the suspect as 69-year-old Seung Han Ho. Officers located him in the Korea Town area located at I-35 and George Bush Turnpike, approximately four miles from the initial scene after using investigative tools to track his vehicle based on descriptions provided by victims.  When Ho spotted the officers approaching, he ran on foot. Officers pursued and were able to capture him without further incident.

Chief Arredondo said the victims were meeting with the suspect for a business-related purpose and emphasized the shooting was not random. He also stated there is no ongoing threat to the public and said the incident is not being investigated as a hate crime.

Detectives later interviewed the suspect and he confessed to shooting all five victims.  He stated that he was angry at the victims due to financial disagreements related to their business dealings.

The City of Carrollton and partner agencies extended their deepest heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including the Lewisville Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Denton County Sheriff's Office, the Denton County Constable’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
