Beth A. Bowman providing update to City Council

IRVING, Texas — The Irving Chamber of Commerce reported significant economic growth during the first half of its fiscal year, highlighting new business recruitment, job creation and steady market performance across the city.

Chamber President and CEO Beth A. Bowman presented an update to the Irving City Council on Thursday, May 7th, covering results from Oct. 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026.

During that period, the chamber secured 20 recruitment wins totaling more than 700,000 square feet, $78 million in capital investment and 1,692 new jobs. An additional seven commercial real estate wins accounted for approximately 740,000 square feet and more than $225 million in capital investment, supporting nearly 1,700 more jobs.

Bowman said the chamber also successfully attracted new headquarters and international companies while maintaining relationships that helped retain major employers already based in Irving.

Bowman reported that Irving’s unemployment rate has remained steady at about 4% since March 2022, continuing to outperform state and national averages.

Among the companies contributing to job growth and investment are EVA Air, Costco Wholesale, Darktrace, Paychex, Continental Battery Systems, Granite Construction and Sandman Hotel Group. Other additions include CloudRx, Sesami, FDH Aero and DN Tanks.

One of the largest investments highlighted was a $78 million aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul facility opened by Pratt & Whitney in Irving.

The chamber also reported several new business openings across the city:

  • Kickin Crab, 2522 N. Beltline Rd
  • Asian Brothers Grocery, 1820 Valley View Lane, Suites 132 & 134
  • Selda Mediterranean Grill, 7750 N. MacArthur Blvd, Suite 160
  • Tavern on Meridian, 1311 Meridian Dr
  • Regal Row Taqueria, 320 Regal Row
  • Alma's Cafe & Bakehouse, 202 S. Britain Rd
  • Janta Garage Grocery & Eatery, 7801 N. Beltline Rd
  • Pokemoto Irving (Hawaiian), 660 Walnut Ridge Dr

Economic data from Costar Group showed positive trends across multiple Irving submarkets. Valley Ranch has seen steady improvement in office occupancy while retail remains strong. Freeport office areas are showing modest gains, and South Irving continues to report high occupancy across office, retail and industrial sectors.

In Las Colinas, leasing activity has increased as tenants seek flexible workspaces, modern amenities and locations that support employee engagement and work-life balance.

Bowman said the results reflect continued momentum in Irving’s economy and ongoing efforts to position the Irving-Las Colinas area as a destination for global business.
