Nimitz High School Female Student-Athletes Advance to Area Championship Across Multiple Disciplines

IRVING, TX – The Nimitz High School Girls Track and Field program secured advancement to the Area Meet following a series of commanding performances at the District championships. Demonstrating exceptional depth and athleticism, the Lady Vikings qualified in five distinct categories: the 4x100m Relay, 4x200m Relay, 300m Hurdles, 1600m Run, and Triple Jump.

The program’s sprint relay teams demonstrated remarkable consistency, securing back-to-back Area appearances in both the 4x100m and 4x200m events. Both relay units were anchored by Ryhanna Melton, whose composure and closing speed proved pivotal in maintaining the team’s championship-level trajectory.

In the distance division, Zaira Acosta delivered a significant performance in the 1600m run. Her execution earned her a second consecutive trip to the Area Meet, marking a major milestone in her high school career.
