DALLAS, Texas — A 16-year-old has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting involving two teenagers in West Dallas early Tuesday morning, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 2:05 a.m. on June 23 to a shooting call in the 3700 block of Bayside Street.
Preliminary findings indicate that two 16-year-old males were involved in a disturbance that escalated into gunfire.
Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel responded to the scene and transported both juveniles to a local hospital for treatment.
One of the teens later died from his injuries.
Police said the surviving juvenile has been charged with murder and will be transported to the Henry Wade Juvenile Justice Center upon his release from the hospital.
Because both individuals involved are juveniles, authorities have not released their identities.
The investigation remains ongoing under Dallas Police case number 090730-2026.
