East Oak Cliff Shooting Victim Dies Weeks After Attack, Investigation Now Homicide

DALLAS, Texas — A man who was critically injured in a shooting earlier this month in East Oak Cliff has died from his injuries, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Police said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 3:10 p.m. on June 3 in the 3500 block of Lancaster Road.

Preliminary findings indicate the victim was shot by an unknown suspect who fled the area before officers arrived.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition.

On June 23, investigators were notified that the victim had succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not released the victim's identity pending further investigation.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide under case number 079942-2026.

Detectives have not announced any arrests, and the suspect remains unidentified.
