IRVING, Texas — Residents and employees interested in learning more about how local government operates are invited to apply for the City of Irving's 360° Civic Academy, a free 12-week program that begins this fall.
The Irving 360° Civic Academy is designed to increase community engagement by giving participants an inside look at the city's operations through interactive, in-person evening sessions.
Throughout the program, participants will hear directly from city department directors, tour municipal facilities, and gain a behind-the-scenes understanding of how various city departments provide services to the community.
City officials say the academy also offers an opportunity for residents and those who work in Irving to become more involved in the community while building relationships with fellow participants and city staff.
Those who successfully complete the program will be recognized during a special graduation ceremony attended by Irving city leadership and members of the Irving City Council.
The City of Irving encourages anyone who lives or works in the city and wants to become more engaged in local government to apply for the upcoming fall session of the Irving 360° Civic Academy.
If you want to learn more or would like to apply, visit IrvingTX.gov/irving-academy or email Gabriela Garza for more information. Applications open June 22 and close on July 17.
