Fort Worth Man Found Dead After Drowning at Benbrook Lake

BENBROOK, Texas. A 62-year-old Fort Worth man who disappeared while swimming at Benbrook Lake was found dead Monday morning after an overnight search, according to Texas Game Wardens.

Emergency responders were called to the lake at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, after witnesses reported a man went underwater in a designated swimming area near Mustang Park and did not resurface.

Texas Game Wardens, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and several local emergency response agencies searched the area Sunday evening but were unable to locate the swimmer before nightfall.

The search resumed early Monday morning.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., search crews recovered the body of the victim from the lake.

Authorities identified him as 62-year-old Freddy Ferrer Bracamonte of Fort Worth.

The incident remains under investigation.
