Clay Cooley Auto Group Acquires Three Irving Dealerships in Deal Brokered by Southlake Firm

Norm Reeves Mazda becomes Clay Cooley Mazda

IRVING, Texas - Three Irving automobile dealerships have new ownership after Clay Cooley Auto Group acquired Norm Reeves Mazda, Hyundai and Genesis from The CAR Group in a transaction brokered by Southlake-based Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions.

The acquisition closed on July 20, 2026. Following the sale, the dealerships will operate as Clay Cooley Mazda, Clay Cooley Hyundai and Clay Cooley Genesis.

Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions represented the seller, The CAR Group, in the transaction, which was led by the firm's founder and CEO, Bill Scrivner.

"I've had the privilege of working with both The CAR Group and Clay Cooley Auto Group for many years," Scrivner said. "The best transactions aren't built on negotiations alone; they're built on relationships, trust, and a shared commitment to doing what's right for everyone involved."

The sale marks another significant dealership transaction in the Dallas-Fort Worth automotive market and continues Pinnacle's longstanding business relationships with both organizations.

Taylor Conant, chief executive officer of The CAR Group, credited Pinnacle's knowledge of the automotive industry and local market throughout the sales process.

"Bill Scrivner and the Pinnacle team were professional, responsive, thoughtful about the process and most definitely know the market and the players inside and outside of it," Conant said.

Clay Cooley, president and CEO of Clay Cooley Auto Group, said the acquisition supports the company's long-term growth strategy.

"We're excited to welcome these Mazda, Hyundai and Genesis dealerships into the Clay Cooley Auto Group family," Cooley said. "These are exceptional dealerships with strong teams and loyal customer bases."

The acquisition expands Clay Cooley Auto Group's presence in North Texas while transferring ownership of three established Irving dealerships to one of the region's largest automotive retail groups.
