Irving Police received a call of an accident involving a motorcycle on the exit ramp from southbound S.H. 161 to westbound S.H. 183.
Southbound 161 was closed for several hours until the investigation was completed.
Irving Police reports that the silver 2007 Kawasaki Ninja was traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound 161 ramp going into 183. He was going too fast to negotiate the curve and struck the concrete barrier wall. The motorcyclist was identified as 28 year old Charles Allan Black of Arlington. Mr. Black was ejected over the barrier and fell to the ground approximately 30 feet below.
After being ejected, the motorcycle continued, driverless, down the ramp on its right side.
Mr. Black was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he later died from injuries he suffered in the crash.
