DFW Airport Monitoring Swine Flu Situation

DFW International Airport is working closely with federal, state and local government agencies, airlines and other airport stakeholders as concerns rise over reports of swine flu cases.

At this time, there are no reported cases of swine flu affecting DFW passengers or airport employees.

"We are actively engaged in this communication and awareness effort, and we are closely monitoring the situation to ensure we take appropriate and timely action," said Jim Crites, executive vice president of Operations for DFW. "We have personnel and processes in place to respond as circumstances warrant."

Passengers arriving from locales within Mexico are receiving information from Customs and Border Protection officers, which helps to identify the symptoms of swine flu in both English and Spanish.

Additionally, many airlines are allowing concerned passengers to change their reservations to Mexico at no cost if they do not wish to travel.
