Circus Clown to Join Irving Public Library for Summer Reading Club Kickoff

The Irving Public Library will welcome Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey cast member Kelly the Clown to kick off the library’s summer reading club this June. As part of the Reading with Ringling Bros. program, Kelly the Clown will facilitate special 30-minute story times at several Irving Public Library locations to encourage reading among young people.

“The reading program is easy and fun for kids. Children from ages 2-12 can enroll at any Irving Public Library location,” said Deborah Vaden, library services manager. “The best part is that kids can earn a free circus ticket by simply reading.”

Kelly the Clown is scheduled to appear at the following locations:

  • June 22, 2:30 p.m. at Southwest Branch Library, 2216 W. Shady Grove Road
  • June 23, 1 p.m. at East Branch Library, 440 S. Nursery Road
  • June 23, 2:30 p.m. at Northwest Branch Library, 2928 N. Belt Line Road
  • June 24, 2:30 and 4 p.m. at Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail
  • June 25, 2:30 p.m. at Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd.

The Irving Public Library’s summer reading club is free and open to the public.
