Irving Police makes arrest on IISD Identity Theft Case

Sharon Seeley
An arrest was made in connection with the identity theft of over 50 Irving Independent School District (IISD) employees.

Sharon Denise Seeley, resident of Bedford, Tx, was arrested and charged with fraud and credit card abuse . Seeley attempted to use another person's information on a credit card to make a purchase at Sears in the Irving Mall. She used a counterfeit Texas driver license in another person's name.

Seeley had two previous warrants for fraud, larceny and non-payment of child support in Tarrant County and Hood County.

Seeley purchased four vehicle tires at Sears and applied for a Sears credit card using the name and stolen identification of Shellie Dawn Pearce, who is an Irving resident. The transaction was processed, but the manager was informed by Sears security that it was a counterfeit credit card transaction. Seeley fled the scene in her red Ford F-150. Minutes later Irving Police caught up with Seeley and searched her vehicle. They found the counterfeit identification and several receipts for other Sears stores in the DFW area.

The same week of the arrest, The Irving ISD Security Department had been working with the Irving Police Department (IPD) on the investigation of stolen identities. 50 IISD employees were identified as victims of the identity theft.
