International cat day is celebrated every year on August 8. The occasion is significant as it helps educate people and raise awareness about the essence of cats worldwide. It is also honored to acknowledge the positive health impacts on humans that cats lead when they are made pets.
National Cat Day was founded in 2005 by Pet and Family Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year.
Residents in North Irving have been complaining about the amount of wild cats in their neghborhoods. Instead of harming the animals, please contact Irving Animal Services (972) 721-2256 so they can retrieve the cats.
