On Sunday, July 31, 2022, at approximately 12:24 P.M., Azle Police Department officers and Azle Fire Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Hwy 199 East eastbound in reference to a major accident with possible shots fired. Upon arrival, Azle officers discovered a white male lying in the roadway with injuries. Azle Fire/EMS began providing medical treatment to the male. Careflight air ambulance arrived to transport the male to a hospital in Fort Worth.
The white male was riding a motorcycle and was shot by another motorist while traveling on SH 199. The motorcycle operator, despite the best efforts of emergency personnel and hospital staff, did not survive. The deceased man was identified as Brian K. Turner,43, from Azle.
