Police Make Arrests after High Speed Chase Involving Stolen Dodge Charger

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, at about 9:21 pm, Northwest Division officers were dispatched on a Hotrodders call where an estimated 20 drivers were performing "donuts" in the parking lot of 2121 Providence Drive, the Marl IV Commerce Park parking lot. At about 9:32 pm, an officer operating a marked patrol unit with emergency lighting and siren observed the suspect vehicle, a red Dodge Charger, that had been involved in performing "donuts" exit the parking lot onto a public street. The officer activated the unit’s red and blue emergency lights in attempt to stop the suspect vehicle while the driver fled in an attempt to elude the officer. The officer then activated their emergency siren and pursued the vehicle.

The pursuit traveled through Northwest Division, through Central Division and through East Division Eastbound on East Lancaster where an officer was able to utilize a tire deflation device to disable at least one of the suspect vehicle's tires. At about 9:58 pm, the suspect vehicle entered into Arlington on East Division Street, where the suspect driver of the suspect vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of East Division Street and East Front Street due to the vehicle being disabled. The suspect vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.

The suspect, an adult male, was taken into custody without incident and charged with Theft of the Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest and Detention in a Motor Vehicle. A passenger, an adult female, was arrested for Fort Worth City Ordinance 22-362 Spectators Prohibited at Street Races and Reckless Driving Exhibitions . There were no injuries or damage to any property, other than the stolen vehicle, as a result of this pursuit. The pursuit lasted about 26 minutes and involved officers from the Department's Patrol Divisions, Directed Response Unit and Air Support Unit.
