On the evening of July 16, 2023, a shooting incident occurred in the parking lot of 215 North Central Expressway, prompting multiple calls to the Richardson Police Department. Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, where they discovered three females who had sustained gunshot wounds during a physical altercation involving another female.
Among the victims was 34-year-old Nicole Franklin, a resident of Carrollton. Despite immediate medical attention, Franklin tragically succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital. The other two injured females were also promptly transported to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment for their non-life threatening wounds.
Law enforcement officers swiftly identified and apprehended a suspect at the scene. The arrested individual has been identified as 38-year-old Ashley Mason, a resident of Dallas. Mason now faces serious charges including Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault.
Richardson Police detectives are actively pursuing leads and diligently investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation and the events that led to the fatal shooting.
