At around 12:45 am, Officer Nathaniel Chapman, a Northwest Crime Response Team officer, contacted 911 to report that he had been shot and his undercover vehicle had been stolen during the robbery. Following the incident, the Dallas Police Department launched an intensive manhunt to locate the suspects responsible for these crimes.

After extensive investigative efforts and cooperation with law enforcement agencies, Shreveport Police in Louisiana apprehended three individuals believed to be connected to the crime spree, as well as additional offenses within their jurisdiction. The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Redricous Lewis, 17-year-old Redtravion Polk, and 18-year-old Xavier Cook.

All three suspects are facing charges of aggravated robbery. The investigation into their involvement in the shooting of the Dallas Police Officer is ongoing and details are still emerging.

According to the arrest affidavit, Lewis was located in connection with the attempted homicide of a police officer. During a subsequent search, law enforcement obtained a search warrant, prompting Lewis to attempt an escape by jumping from a second-floor window and fleeing on foot.
