At 12:03am on August 13, 2023, multiple emergency response agencies were dispatched to the scene of a crash on westbound Highway 114, just west of Trophy Club Drive.
According to authorities, a passenger vehicle was in motion along Highway 114 when it collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder of the highway.
Tragically, the driver of the passenger vehicle, estimated to be around 25 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.
In the aftermath of the incident, all lanes of westbound Highway 114 were closed for an extended period of time to facilitate thorough investigations by law enforcement and emergency services.
