On December 6, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Bedford 911 dispatchers received a call alerting them to a house fire in the 3000 block of Woodbridge Drive. Firefighters from Bedford and Euless, accompanied by the local police department, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a one-story home with visible flames. Taking command, Battalion Chief 15 requested additional firefighters to assist at the scene and cover other calls throughout the city. Firefighters utilized multiple hose lines and the master stream from the truck to extinguish the fire, although the residence sustained significant damage.

During the operation, firefighters faced a moment of urgency, leading to their temporary evacuation due to the potential collapse of the roof. Fortunately, the residents managed to exit the premises safely. Despite the challenges, firefighters successfully rescued two cats; however, one Tuxedo cat remained unaccounted for as of last night.

The collaborative efforts of neighboring departments, including Euless, Grapevine, Colleyville, and others, were crucial in providing support on the scene and handling additional calls in the city while the fire was being addressed.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
