Dallas Police Officer Arrested for DWI in Irving

On January 14, 2024, 37-year-old Dallas Police Officer Deron E. Coleman was arrested by the Irving Police Department on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). The arrest was confirmed through a blood test, and Coleman was booked into the Irving Jail at 1:44 am. It's important to note that Coleman was off duty at the time of the arrest.

Officer Coleman, who has been with the Dallas Police Department since January 2019, is currently assigned to the Community Engagement and Operations Bureau. Following his arrest, he has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs administrative investigation.

This incident marks the second case of DWI involving a Dallas Police Officer in the past week. On January 12, 2024, another Dallas Police Officer was arrested for DWI by Pilot Point Police Officers.
