In the early hours of February 20, 2024, Dallas Police responded to a major accident call in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in South Dallas. At approximately 1:25 a.m., officers arrived at the scene to discover a grim situation.
According to the preliminary investigation, officers found 25-year-old Faneal Tesfit shot and unresponsive inside his vehicle. Despite the prompt response of Dallas Fire Rescue, Tesfit succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators determined that Tesfit lost control of his vehicle after sustaining gunshot wounds from an unidentified assailant. The vehicle veered off the road, ultimately crashing into the side of an unoccupied house.
The investigation remains ongoing and is documented under case number 028299-2024.
