Keep Irving Beautiful Volunteer Margie Stipes Receives National Honor

Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) and KIB volunteer Margie Stipes were honored at the Keep America Beautiful National Conference in San Diego on February 12, 2024.

Margie Stipes, a dedicated volunteer since 1955, has been an integral part of the City of Irving, Texas. Joining the KIB Board of Directors in 2002, she currently serves as the board's secretary. Stipes' commitment extends beyond administrative duties; she actively participates in community events, school programs, and environmental initiatives, embodying the spirit of volunteerism. In recognition of her outstanding service, Stipes was presented with the distinguished Lady Bird Johnson Award.

Rick Hose, KIB Coordinator and Stipes’ nominator, praised her contributions, stating, “Margie is an outstanding example to other affiliates by the numerous ways she has volunteered.”

Additionally, the KIB team received the Keep America Beautiful Innovation Award for their innovative partnerships and programs aimed at advancing the organization's mission. This accolade acknowledges KIB's efforts in developing new ideas and concepts that foster organizational growth.

Out of 10 organizations nationwide, KIB was among those honored with the Innovation Award.
