Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) is rallying Irving residents for the 2024 "Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off," set to take place on Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon at Trinity View Park, located at 2298 E. 6th St. The event welcomes participants of all ages, with minors under 17 requiring parental or guardian accompaniment. Interested individuals are urged to register online by March 29.

KIB will furnish cleanup materials for on-site volunteers, comprising trash bags, gloves, and grabbers. Following the cleanup efforts, volunteers will be treated to a complimentary lunch as a token of appreciation.

In tandem with the cleanup, Crisis Ministries will organize a canned food donation drive for their food pantry. Volunteers involved in the drive will receive a complimentary KIB T-shirt, while stocks last. For further details, contact Keep Irving Beautiful at (972) 721-2175 or via email rhose@cityofirving.org.

The statewide cleanup event is a highlight of the national "Great American Cleanup" initiative.

Virtual Cleanup Option Available

KIB also extends an option for virtual cleanup participation, catering to residents keen on smaller group activities. Virtual volunteers are advised to select safe locations for conducting their cleanups.

Upon completing the cleanup, groups are encouraged to share on their social media platforms:

  • A group photo
  • The count of volunteers
  • Total hours contributed
  • Total count of trash and/or recycling bags utilized
