In collaboration with the City of Dallas' Whole Home program, the nonprofit organization Solar United Neighbors has initiated a second round of Solar Switch Dallas. The program aims to assist homeowners and small businesses in acquiring rooftop solar and battery storage systems at discounted rates.
Solar Switch utilizes group buying power to ensure participants receive quality systems at competitive prices. Solar installers are thoroughly vetted based on various criteria, including product quality, warranties, financial stability, and customer satisfaction history. Qualified installers then engage in a reverse auction, resulting in competitively priced solar packages for participants.
Carlos Evans, Director of the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability, highlighted the importance of the Solar Switch program in simplifying the solar installation process and providing discounted prices to residents.
The combination of the Solar Switch group discount and federal clean energy incentives makes solar energy more accessible. Participants can benefit from the federal solar investment tax credit (ITC), potentially saving 30% on their total system costs.
